These eels occur in areas of the stream where water is moving very slow. Spends most of its time lying at the bottom, either buried in mud or clinging to some submerged vegetation along the edges of the streams, therefore you should keep these in an aquarium with soft substrate, lots of plants and many hiding places to ensure that they feel at home.
You will need to feed live (or defrosted frozen) foods. Mosquito larvae or almost any other insect. Like most eels, the Blushing Eel takes time to chew it’s food so please be sure that you allow it enough time to find food and eat it.
They are best kept in tanks that are ‘Eel Only’ and contain other carnivorous fish that are peaceful and will not attack this eel as they remain small in size.
